Gender Equality Directives binding on Finland as a Member State of the European Union:
Directive 2006/54/EC. Directive of the European Parliament and
of the Council on the implementation of the principle of equal
opportunities and equal treatment of men and women in matters of
employment and occupation (recast).
With effect from 15 August 2009, Directive 2006/54/EC shall repeal the below-mentioned Directives. References made to the repealed Directive shall be construed as being made to Directive 2006/54/EC and should be read in accordance with the correlation table in Annex II:
Directive 79/7/EEC. Council Directive on the progressive
implementation of the principle of equal treatment for men and
women in matters of social security.
Directive 86/613/EEC. Council Directive on the application of
the principle of equal treatment between men and women engaged in
an activity, including agriculture, in a self-employed capacity,
and on the protection of self-employed women during pregnancy and
motherhood.
Directive 92/85/EEC. Council Directive on the introduction of
measures to encourage improvements in the safety and health at work
of pregnant workers and workers who have recently given birth or
are breastfeeding.
Directive 96/34/EC. Council Directive on the framework agreement
on parental leave concluded by UNICE, CEEP and the ETUC.
Directive 2004/113/EC. Council Directive implementing the principle of equal treatment between men and women in the access to and supply of goods and services.
