Discrimination in giving notice and in lay-offs

The employer may not give notice on, terminate or otherwise discontinue the employment relationship of one or more employees on the basis of gender. Likewise, employees may not be laid off or moved to other tasks on the basis of gender. The employer may not target any of the above measures in a manner that violates the prohibitions laid down on direct or indirect discrimination.

The legislation on employment relationships also contains provisions on such matters as the employment security of pregnant employees and employees on family leave.
